Setup guide for Auerswald® COMfortel® 3600 IP
This setup guide describes how to set up an Auerswald® COMfortel® 3600 IP as an extension of your PBX and how to have it automatically display the video image when a Behnke Station calls. We assume that the basic configuration of the COMfortel® has already been done and that the device can be reached in a browser via its IP address. This setup guide is limited to registering with the PBX and setting up the video display.
It is assumed that the Behnke-Station is already set up to the extent that access to the web interface is possible. If this is not the case, please follow the instructions provided with your base electronics (manuals) and refer to the technical manualRecently updated — within the last 72 hours to complete the basic setup.

4. Direct SIP calls (operation without a PBX)
To operate the device without a PBX, it can be registered directly with the Behnke Station via a pseudo SIP registration. From the Behnke Station you can then call the COMfortel® with a direct SIP call. How to activate direct SIP dialing on the Behnke Station is described in the following setup example: Direct SIP calls (operation without a PBX). There you will also find a section on pseudo SIP registration.
-
To register the COMfortel® with the Behnke Station, please follow the steps described above under 1. SIP registration. For Providers & PBXs, please use the following values:
COMfortel® field PBX value Name a name of your choice Domain IP address of the Behnke Station "Registrar" option enable Registrar address IP address of the Behnke Station

- Switch to the SIP tab
- At the very bottom, set the SIP transport protocol option to UDP
- Then click Save to apply the configuration

-
When creating the account, please use the following values
COMfortel® field PBX value Account name a name of your choice "Use" option enable "Default account (standard)" option enable User name a SIP login name of your choice Password a SIP login password of your choice Authentication ID a SIP login name of your choice Providers & PBXs the PBX created in the previous step

Caution
You can choose the SIP login data yourself. This data does not need to be stored in the Behnke Station. If the chosen login name is not a number, a phone number must additionally be assigned on the Phone numbers tab.

- If your Behnke Station has a camera and the image is to be displayed on the COMfortel®, proceed as described above in steps 2 and 3. The only thing to note is that in step 3, creating the contact in the COMfortel®, you enter the name of the Behnke Station in the Phone number field. You can find it in the web interface of the Behnke Station under the menu item , in the basic settings.

-
To call a Behnke Station from the COMfortel®, it is sufficient to dial any phone number.
-
You are automatically connected to the Behnke Station for which the pseudo SIP registration was carried out.
-
If you want to use several Behnke Stations, note the following:
- A separate pseudo SIP registration must be made for each Behnke Station.
- Only the IP address of the Behnke Station stored as the SIP server changes.
- In addition, a separate contact for each station must be created in the COMfortel®.
- When creating the contact:
- Any value can be entered in the Phone number field.
- In the drop-down field next to Phone number, the correct account name of the respective Behnke Station must be selected.
- Do not select "Any exchange line"!
- The connection to the respective station only works via this correctly assigned contact.
- Repeat this procedure for each additional Behnke Station.
