Configuring the Intercom ID of an Indoor Station
This setup guide describes how to set or change the intercom ID of a Behnke indoor station.
The intercom ID is the call number under which an indoor station can be reached within the Behnke IP intercom system.
An ID between 1 and 99 can be assigned to indoor stations.
Note
Outdoor stations do not have an intercom ID.
The intercom ID is used exclusively for indoor stations.
1. What is the function of the intercom ID?
The intercom ID determines the call number under which an indoor station can be reached in intercom mode.
If the outdoor station and the indoor station are in the same intercom group, the outdoor station can call the indoor station directly via its ID.
Example:
Innenstation
Sprechanlagengruppe: 1
Sprechanlagen-ID: 2
Rufnummer innerhalb der Gruppe: 2
An outdoor station in the same group can therefore reach this indoor station using the call number 2.
2. Relationship between call button and intercom ID
If no individual call number is configured for a call button of an outdoor station, the dialed call number automatically corresponds to the number of the button. In the web interface of the outdoor station, the ID is displayed in blue in the field of the Call number option.
This means the following applies in intercom mode:
Taste 1 → ID 1
Taste 2 → ID 2
Taste 3 → ID 3
...

If an indoor station has the ID 2, for example, it is called by button 2 of an outdoor station in the same intercom group, provided that no other call number has been stored for this button.
Note
Call buttons can be assigned individually. This is described in the setup guide Assigning call buttons of an outdoor station to indoor stations.
3. Configuring the intercom ID via the web interface
- Open your browser
- Go to the web interface of the Behnke Station
- Log in

- In the sidebar on the left, click the menu item
- Find the option ID
- A value between
1and99can be set for the intercom ID. - Set the value of the option ID to the desired ID
- Click to save the configuration
The indoor station can then be reached under this ID within its intercom group.
4. Setting the intercom ID during initial configuration
For an indoor station with a display, the intercom ID can already be selected during initial configuration.
After selecting the language, operating mode and intercom group, the desired intercom ID is set.

Example:
Betriebsart: Sprechanlagenmodus
Sprechanlagengruppe: 1
Sprechanlagen-ID: 1
Name: Empfang
The indoor station can then be reached within group 1 via the call number 1.
5. Multiple indoor stations with the same ID
Multiple indoor stations within an intercom group can use the same intercom ID.
When this ID is called, all indoor stations in the same intercom group with this ID are called.
Example:
Gruppe 1
├── Innenstation Büro 1 → ID 2
└── Innenstation Büro 2 → ID 2
If the call number 2 is dialed within the group, both indoor stations are called.
This can be used when several indoor stations are meant to respond to the same call.
6. Calling an indoor station in a different intercom group
If an indoor station in a different intercom group is to be called, the ID alone is not used.
Instead, a three-digit call number is formed:
[Gruppe][zweistellige ID]
Example:
Sprechanlagengruppe: 2
Sprechanlagen-ID: 1
Rufnummer: 201
This calls the indoor station with ID 1 in intercom group 2.

7. Checking the configuration
After changing the intercom ID, you should check that the indoor station can be reached.
For an indoor station with ID 1 and an outdoor station in the same intercom group, for example, simply pressing call button 1 is enough, provided it has not been configured individually.
Check:
- Is the desired indoor station being called?
- Are the outdoor station and the indoor station in the same intercom group?
- Does the configured intercom ID match the call number being used?
- Has an individual call number already been stored for the call button?
8. Summary
The following basic rules apply to the intercom ID:
- only indoor stations have an intercom ID
- possible IDs are
1to99 - the default is ID
1 - the ID corresponds to the call number of the indoor station within its own intercom group
- call buttons that are not individually configured use their button number as the call number
- multiple indoor stations in the same group can use the same ID and are then called together
- indoor stations in other groups are addressed via a three-digit call number
