One Behnke intercom station calls two indoor stations at the same time
1. Introduction
This setup guide describes the configuration of Behnke intercom stations and Behnke indoor stations in IP intercom mode. The setup shown is based on a network structure with a PoE switch, through which both the power supply and the network communication of the devices are provided.
Depending on the scenario, different group and ID assignments can be configured to implement the desired call logic between the intercom station and the indoor stations. It is assumed that:
- all devices are connected to a PoE switch and have already started up,
- the basic initial commissioning of the devices has been completed,
- valid IP addresses have been assigned,
- the web interfaces of the devices are reachable.
This guide describes only the respective group, ID and button configuration.
2. Setup overview
This example shows how to set up a Behnke intercom station with one button so that two indoor stations ring at the same time.
Calls are assigned via the same group and the same ID:
- Intercom station (group 1) → button 1 calls ID 1
- Indoor station A: group 1, ID 1
- Indoor station B: group 1, ID 1

3. Configuring the Behnke intercom station
3.1 Activating intercom mode
If not already done:
- Open the web interface of the intercom station
- Select the "General" menu
- Switch the operating mode to "IP intercom"
- Save the settings

3.2 Setting the device name
Enter the desired name of the door station in the "Name" field (e.g. "Front door"). This name is displayed later on the indoor station and serves to identify the door station unambiguously.

3.3 Setting the group
- Open the "IP intercom" menu
- Set the group number to 1
- Save the settings

3.4 Button assignment
- Open the "Buttons" menu
- Select button 1
- Set the target to ID 1
- Save the settings
As a result, when button 1 is pressed, the intercom station calls ID 1 within group 1. If no blue number is displayed next to the button's call number, "com:1" must be entered.

4. Configuring the indoor stations
4.1 Indoor station A
- Set the device name and the IP intercom mode A device name is also assigned on the indoor station (e.g. "Indoor station A"). The name provides a better overview, especially with several devices. (Depending on the device, either directly on the display or via the web interface.)

-
Set the group and ID
Group: 1
ID: 1

4.2 Indoor station B
- Set the device name and the IP intercom mode
Device name, e.g. "Indoor station B".

-
Set the group and ID
Group: 1
ID: 1

Note: In this scenario, both indoor stations are deliberately configured identically (group 1 / ID 1) so that they react at the same time when a call is made.
5. Checking in the Behnke intercom station
After configuration, the name of the assigned indoor station should be displayed in the button settings of the Behnke intercom station.
- Open the web interface of the intercom station
- "Buttons" menu
- Select the button
- Check the display (name of the indoor station)

6. Function test
- Press button 1 on the intercom station Expected result:
- Indoor station A rings
- Indoor station B rings
If only one indoor station rings:
- Check the group/ID of the indoor station (must be 1/1),
- Check the network connection,
- Check the target ID of the button in the intercom station (must be ID 1).
