Introduction\n\nThis setup guide describes how to connect two separate networks via \na network bridge so that Behnke door stations and\nindoor stations can communicate across networks.\n\nThe two networks are connected to each other via a router (routed).\nSince Behnke devices only find each other automatically within one network, \na network bridge is also set up.\n\nThe network bridge ensures that the devices can detect each other and communicate with each other across network boundaries.\n\nIt is assumed that:\n\n- both networks are routed to each other\n- all devices have already been started\n- the basic initial setup has been completed\n- valid IP addresses have been assigned\n- the web interfaces are reachable\n\n<!-- block: netzwerkuebersicht -->\n## 2. Network Overview\n\nNetwork A (192.168.16.0/24)\n\n- Door station A → 192.168.16.88\n- Indoor station A → 192.168.16.90\n\nFunction:\n\n- Button 1 → Indoor station A\n- Button 2 → Indoor station B (across networks)\n\nNetwork B (192.168.50.0/24)\n\n- Door station B → 192.168.50.69\n- Indoor station B → 192.168.50.155\n\nFunction:\n\n- Button 1 → Indoor station B\n\nConnection\n\n- Router connects both networks\n- Network bridge is set up:\n\nfrom door station A → door station B\n\n![Schematic setup of the network bridge](uploads/956b24d3da2b35f006987a8ecec84ab9/grafik.png)\n\n\n<!-- block: funktionsuebersicht -->\n## 3. Function Overview\n\nDoor station A\n\n- Button 1 → Indoor station A (local)\n- Button 2 → Indoor station B (via network bridge)\n\nDoor station B\n\n- Button 1 → Indoor station B (local)\n\n\n<!-- block: netzwerk-und-portanforderungen -->\n## 4. Network and Port Requirements\n\nFor communication to work, the networks must not only be routed,\nbut the necessary ports must also be open.\n\n Basic requirements\n\n- Network A ↔ Network B reachable\n- Firewall allows traffic in both directions\n\nRequired ports (bidirectional)\nCommunication / device discovery\n\n- UDP 4000\n- UDP 4001\n- UDP 4005\n- UDP 5000\n\nWeb interface\n\n- TCP 80 (HTTP)\n- TCP 443 (HTTPS)\n\nSIP (if used)\n\n- UDP 5060\n- UDP 5061\n\nAudio / video (RTP)\n\n- UDP 10000 – 20000\n\nImportant:\n\nThe network bridge itself does not require any ports of its own, but uses the existing communication.\n\n\n<!-- block: konfiguration-sprechstelle-a-aktiver-brueckenkop -->\n## 5. Topology\n\nIntercom \n\n- The topology shows the existing intercom groups. The indoor station or door station on which the active network bridge is set up is marked accordingly.\n\n![Brücke_2_Markierung](uploads/d10c5e5bf86383e1bc12f492da6a8b73/Brücke_2_Markierung.jpg) \n\n\n10. Technical Note\n\n- The network bridge logically connects two networks with each other \n- It is set up on only one station \n- Communication takes place automatically in both directions \n- The prerequisite is that all devices can reach each other (routing!) \n","lastModified":"2026-10-14T13:47:15+02:00"}
