This allows, for example, a network switch to receive information about the connected Behnke Station.\n\n%[NOTE_REQUIRES_BASIC_SETUP](NOTE_REQUIRES_BASIC_SETUP)%\n\n<!-- block: lldp-aktivieren -->\n## 1. Enabling LLDP\n\n%[BS_LOGIN_INFO](BS_LOGIN_INFO)%\n\n- Click the menu item %BS_MENU_NETZWERK% in the sidebar on the left\n- Navigate to the **LLDP** section\n\n![Web interface, **LLDP** section](uploads/d1dbd6b664072b45f4d2ecc5d4a45870/grafik.png)\n\n- Set the value of the **Enable** option to **yes**\n- Click %BS_MENU_SPEICHERN_ROT% to save the configuration\n\nLLDP is now enabled.\n\n> [!NOTE]\n> In the delivery state of the Behnke Station, LLDP is active regardless of the `Enable` setting. The setting takes effect as soon as the device is no longer in the delivery state.\n\n<!-- block: lldp-konfigurieren -->\n## 2. Configuring LLDP\n\nFurther settings are available for LLDP.\n\n<!-- block: uebertragungsintervall -->\n### Transmission interval\n\nSpecifies the interval at which the Behnke Station sends LLDP packets.\n\n<!-- block: uebertragungshaltefaktor -->\n### Transmission hold multiplier\n\nTogether with the transmission interval, the transmission hold multiplier determines the hold time of the information published via LLDP.\n\nThe hold time is calculated as:\n\n`Transmission interval × Transmission hold multiplier`\n\nWith the default values, this results in:\n\n`30 seconds × 4 = 120 seconds`\n\n<!-- block: systemfunktionen-veroeffentlichen -->\n### Publish system capabilities\n\nSpecifies whether the system capabilities of the Behnke Station are published via LLDP.\n\n\n<!-- block: managementadressen-veroeffentlichen -->\n### Publish management addresses\n\nSpecifies whether the IP addresses via which the Behnke Station can be configured are published via LLDP.\n\n<!-- block: lldp-med -->\n## 3. LLDP-MED\n\nThe Behnke Station additionally supports LLDP-MED.\n\nLLDP-MED extends LLDP with functions for network devices in the field of IP telephony.\n\nTo use LLDP-MED:\n\n- Set the option **Enable LLDP-MED** to the value **yes**\n- Click %BS_MENU_SPEICHERN_ROT% to save the configuration\n\nWhen LLDP-MED is enabled, the following information, among others, can be published:\n\n- Inventory information\n- PoE information\n- Network policies for voice\n\n<!-- block: netzwerkrichtlinie-fuer-sprache -->\n## 4. Network policy for voice\n\nVia LLDP-MED, the Behnke Station can receive a network policy for voice from a network device, for example a switch.\n\nThe option `Apply network policy for voice` can be used to specify whether a received policy should be applied automatically.\n\nIf a corresponding policy is received and its application is enabled, the Behnke Station adjusts its network configuration accordingly.\n\nIn doing so:\n\n- the VLAN specified by the policy is used\n- the IP address assignment is set to `dynamic`\n\n> [!WARNING]\n> Applying an LLDP-MED network policy can change the network configuration of the Behnke Station. As a result, the IP address of the station may also change.\n\n<!-- block: konfiguration-des-netzwerk-switches -->\n## 5. Configuring the network switch\n\nIn order for LLDP or LLDP-MED to be used, the function must also be supported by the connected network device and configured accordingly.\n\nThe configuration of the network switch depends on the manufacturer and model used and is therefore not covered in this setup guide.\n\n<!-- block: faq -->\n## 6. FAQ\n\n> [!NOTE]\n> **LLDP is disabled, but my switch still detects the station**\n>\n> In the delivery state, LLDP is automatically active on the Behnke Station. The configured **Enable** setting is only taken into account once the station is no longer in the delivery state.\n\n> [!NOTE]\n> **Does LLDP-MED have to be enabled?**\n>\n> No. LLDP-MED is not required for basic device detection via LLDP.\n>\n> LLDP-MED is needed if additional IP telephony functions are to be used, for example the automatic application of a network policy for voice.\n","lastModified":"2026-10-14T13:47:15+02:00"}
